TEAM LEAD, SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT
Canada (Remote)

As the Software Development Team Lead you'll play a crucial role in the success of our fast growing early-stage software company. This multifaceted position requires exceptional technical and leadership ability.

You’ll be leading the development team, and thus be ultimately responsible for their output, as well as growing the scalable system architecture and development processes, and ensuring technical requirements and deadlines are met.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 8+ years in software development (coding)
  • 3+ years in technical leadership position
  • Developing web based, data driven business software systems
  • Core Technologies Required: .NET, SQL, REST APIs, Javascript, HTML, CSS
  • Ideally also some of: Angular, React, Azure, Entity Framework, microservice architecture, deployment

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Mentoring and empowering the development team
  • Conducting regular performance reviews
  • Providing frequent feedback to team members
  • Assisting developers with technical challenges, removing roadblocks
  • Researching, implementing and managing tools and process for development, deployment and testing
  • Writing code for the more advanced and complex features and frameworks in the pipeline
  • Interviewing new developer candidates
  • Developing deep understanding of existing system architecture, designing and implementing new scalable architectures
  • Reviewing code to ensure it meets our high standards
  • Keeping apprised of the latest relevant technologies and industry security standards
  • Ensuring projects are kept on track and requirements are met
  • Estimating effort for development projects
  • Prioritizing development tasks
  • Coordinating and documenting production issue investigation
  • Ensuring continuous communication between dev team and the rest of the company
  • Coordinating development with integration partners
  • Occasionally communicating directly with clients on technical issues
